Dragon Arena is nice.

Getting a new mask is nice. Probably won't wear it, though.

Rollerbeetle is laggy for me, but kinda fun.

9 Rings is retarded, so I don't bother with it.

I've never done the missions, so I guess that's new content for me.

For the quests, I just bring obscure, lulzy builds on my high-level characters and solo them. Pretty entertaining, actually.

On the website they said 'this year's brand new mask' a few times, so...

Giving a starving man a cookie doesn't do much for his situation.

They need to stop giving out hats and masks. At some point the collection should be complete. I'm not going to log into GW 10 years from now to get a hat.

Arrrgh! Free sweets, alcohol and party points! I am appalled! Also, a new hat and experience for those young players who just bought the trilogy off Steam! Damn you, Anet!

Or in any society...ever.

Anyway If the dragon mask is less pansy and more manly this year I'll be happy.

they could start giving out full costumes instead but that of course takes more work then modifying an old mask

To be completely honest, I'm not even that excited about this, almost to the point that I'm considering not showing up and then buying my mask later after the event clears out.

Haven't you heard? The economy is in the tanks, getting a job isn't that easy nowadays

Yeah its the same old stuff. It would be nice if they could at least take a look at some of the problems with dodgeball, like the lag-kills for instance, that have been there for years. They don't need to add anything new, but there are things within the festival that should have been polished/revamped a long time ago.

Don't worry for all those whining about another hat. I'm sure Anet will come out with another stupid costume, this time Dragon-themed, for you to shell out $10 for. If you're going to get pissy over the free hat, I can't wait to see your disproportionate reaction to armor you actually have to pay for.

There has been a new mask each year with the Dragon Festival, it will be a new one this year.

Canthan New Year has the same every year (Lion Mask).

Bottom of the page.

another weekend to ....let my monk get out and afk on the rings....(yes its a holiday weekend that I plan to DO something during for a change)....so at least I will get some lucky and unlucky points...will get me enough whatevers for the hat and leave my computer running while I go and watch the fireworks.
Not bad for a weekend event ...and I dont have to worry about lag since I wont be home!
(heck its the ONLY thing anet allows you to do afk, so why not?)

The Dragon Festival is by far my favourite festival. I love getting new Canthan masks (except those fugly demon ones, I'm glad they killed that terrible idea).

The Dragon Festival quests are fun and challenging. The first year I tried them I failed. Their limited availability kind of adds to the challenge.

Easily my favourite festival and I will enjoy it even if I don't get a shiny new mask. Who doesn't love a reason to go back to the ambience of Shing Jea Monastery?

Go! Go! Dragon/Roller Bots!

The crying, lame excuses, claims of wrongful bans, threats of legal action, "I'll get you, A-net!", "botting is meta", "botting keeps GW alive", "I have a new undetectable bot, and I'll be back right after I buy a new account, that'll show you A-net! Oh wait" etc etc... has all died down from the 3700.

So we need another Big Ban, to resume the forum entertainments.

This festival is awesome for moving your titles along. Without festivals I wouldn't have maxed any of the annoying ones that you have to buy (like sweet tooth, party animal, drunkard). What's not to like?

Tbh, I just don't get the 9 rings. They seem the opposite of lucky or unlucky. Being able to choose how much you bet on each draw would make it better. Eight stacks on the front right corner, whoohoo. It'd make it a bit more excitng than standing on the spot for 8 hours. Anet could always limit how much you can bet per account per festivalto protect the economy. I get why Anet do it this way but it doesn't make for a fun gaming experience. It is still the quickest way to max lucky/unlucky. If you don't want to do that, the boardwalk is mind-bogglingly easy to avoid.

The whole point of the Dragon Festival, for me at least, is that it doesn't matter. It's just a laugh. Enter a beetle race or the Dragon Arena and lose, who cares? Do the quests or not, what's the difference? This will be the first one for me where it won't help a title either. That makes it all the more appealing.

If nothing else, this is the hopefully the last Dragon Festival before GW2 comes out. It's like the party at the end of the world. Make the most of it. Even if the mask is less than brilliant, who cares? Some of the ones that I initially hated have made me laugh the most (like that bloody awful flower hat with candles in it).

This is my first dragon festival (joined in August) pity I probably won't be able to partecipate. I see it much like Canthan new year/Birthday celebrations, but at least I wanted to do the quests...
I think I gave up the dragon arena after seeing it's all fanatics who get angry if you play just for fun instead of following well studied tattics and your team loses. I have fun even if I lose (at least in a such joke-like format), but it looks like I'm almost the only one.
